Looking for a dog to sleep with you? A new survey from luxury bedding brand Secret Linen Store revealed the top 10 dog breeds for a good night’s sleep filled with cuddles and warm hugs.

Here’s what the study indicated as the best canine companions for a peaceful night’s sleep:

1. Maltese

Taking the first place as the best dog breed to have in your bed are Malteses. With their small size and lack of drool, Malteses are officially the perfect dogs for a nap.

2. Yorkshire Terrier

The Yorkshire Terrier scored well in all categories, losing only the first place because it can be a bit too energetic for long naps on a Sunday afternoon.

3. Bulldog

A perhaps surprising entry in the list of best dogs to share the bed is the English Bulldog. With a small amount of hair, barks, and a very relaxed temperament, according to the survey, these puppies really are great sleep companions, but watch out for the drool.

4. Cockapoo

One of the most popular dog breeds in recent years, the Cockapoo (a mix of cocker spaniel and miniature poodle) is the fourth best dog to have in your bed.
They lose some points for their relatively large size, but other than that, they have all the right attributes to be great bed companions.

5. Cavachon

Tied with the Cockapoo in fourth place is another mixed breed, the Cavachons (a mix of Cavalier King Charles Spaniel and Bichon Frisé). They have reasonably high energy levels, but a quick walk around the block before sleep should ensure they sleep well.

6. Poodle

The Poodle scored particularly high for lack of hair shedding: this hypoallergenic breed won’t leave your bed tangled with hairs! They also come in three different sizes: toy, miniature, and standard, choose depending on the size of your bed!

7. Pomeranian

The Pomeranian is another dog on this list that might enjoy an occasional bark at night. If you can keep them quiet, these little dogs are great company and take up very little space.

8. Shih Tzu

The Shih Tzu tends to be an excellent bed companion, having been bred to be a lap dog in China. They tend to bark, so expect to be occasionally woken up if they hear something outside.

9. Chihuahua

If space is scarce, you can’t find a better sleep partner than the Chihuahua, the smallest dog in the world. These dogs are full of personality and love to be close to their owners all the time.

10. Schnauzer

The largest dog on this list, and coming in 10th place, is the Schnauzer. They are also quite energetic, but score very well in the other categories, shedding very little hair and hardly ever waking you up with a bark.
